Size-consistent ab initio calculation of the electric quadrupole moment of Cl2

Abstract The molecular electric quadrupole moment ( Θ ) of Cl 2 has been calculated using SDCI, and (SC) 2 -SDCI wave functions as well as CCSD, CCSD(T), and CC3 methods. All these correlation methods are single reference. All of them, but SDCI, are free of the size-extensivity error. The variation of Θ from the separated atoms to the equilibrium region is reported. The present results leads to an estimated value of 2.3520 a.u. (10.55 × 10 −40 Cm 2 ) corresponding to a CC(3) calculation at the CBS approach and including the ro-vibrational and thermal averaging corrections. This value is compatible with two experimental values and points to one of them as slightly more reliable.
Vertical spectrum of ethene: uncontracted versus contracted correlation methods and the role of the adapted molecular orbitals

Abstract Ethylene vertical excitation energies (VEE) below 9.5 eV have been calculated with the complete active-space singles and doubles configuration interaction self-consistent size-consistent dressing (SC) 2 CAS–SDCI. The mean of the absolute deviation from experiment for the calculated VEE are 0.14, 0.05 and 0.03 eV for three different molecular orbital (MO) sets tried. The results show that an uncontracted method and a realistic MO set avoid the difficulties present in the calculation of the strongly mixed Rydberg-valence 1B 1u states.

To evaluate an adequate strategy for biological monitoring of aluminium (Al), a group of 62 Al welders (age in 1999: 23-51 years, median 35 years) was surveyed annually from 1999 to 2003 by determination of pre- and post-shift Al in urine and plasma. Biomonitoring was supplemented by personal air measurements of the total dust concentration. The welders' internal exposure was compared to the exposure of 60 non-exposed assembly workers (age in 1999: 21-51 years, median: 36 years) who were surveyed in 1999, 2001 and 2003. Dental findings and orthopantomograms of 984 patients (aged 20–60 years; 524 females/460 males) were analyzed. Previous research has shown broad relationships between personality and dance, but the relationship between personality and specific structural features of music has not been explored. The current study explores the influence of personality and trait empathy on dancers' responsiveness to small tempo differences between otherwise musically identical stimuli, measured by difference in the amount in acceleration of key joints. We investigated ten healthy male subjects and measured late components of AEPs and VEPs during sleep. According to Rechtschaffen and Kales (1968) we performed an off-line scoring procedure of sleep-EEG and averaged the AEPs and VEPs of five different periods, corresponding to sleep stages I, II, III, IV and REM. From the averaged evoked potentials we computed the amplitude-frequency-characteristic (AFC) of the brain (Basar, 1980) during different sleep stages. The purpose of this study was to establish GENEA (Gravity Estimator of Normal Everyday Activity) cut-points for discriminating between six relative-intensity activity levels in middle-aged recreational marathoners. This study compared heart rate (HR), oxygen uptake (V[Combining Dot Above]O2), percentage of maximal HR (%HRmax), percentage of maximal V[Combining Dot Above]O2, and cadence (Cad) related to the anaerobic threshold (AT) during a water cycling maximal test between heart rate deflection point (HRDP) and ventilatory (VT) methods. To examine quality of life and subjective well-being as predictors of symptomatic treatment outcome.Biweekly PANSS ratings were performed in 285 inpatients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders within a multicenter trial by the German Research Network on Schizophrenia.
